Definition and classification of kraft paper:
Kraft paper is a high-strength packaging paper made from kraft wood pulp as the main raw material, with excellent burst resistance, ring crush strength and tear resistance. Its name "kraft" comes from its toughness similar to that of kraft leather. It is widely used to make the surface layer of corrugated boxes, heavy-duty paper bags and high-end packaging boxes (white hanging paper)
There are two main production processes:
1. Traditional layered noodle process: We use 100% natural sulfate wood pulp, mostly 40%-50% wood pulp layered noodles, the core layer and bottom layer are made of wheat straw pulp, rice straw pulp, bagasse pulp, waste paper pulp, etc.
2. Three-layer composite process: The surface layer, core layer, and bottom layer three-layer pulp system are used, and the mesh is composited and formed, and then pressed, dried, and calendered to control the wood pulp buckle at 20-25SP, reduce the amount of surface noodles, avoid mesh dehydration difficulties, and add red and yellow materials to solve the problem of pulp leakage.
Main features of kraft linerboard:
1. High strength & tear resistance
2. Good water and moisture resistance
3. Strong interlayer bonding, not easy to delaminate
4. Good printability
5. Environmentally friendly and recyclable
Uses of kraft linerboard
1. General transportation packaging: used for outer packaging boxes of home appliances, food, daily necessities, electronic products, etc.
2. Luxury packaging: cosmetics, alcohol, high-end electronic products, use coated white kraft linerboard to improve printing effect and aesthetics.
3. Industrial packaging: acid and alkali resistant, moisture-proof, used for pesticides, fertilizers, and coatings.
4. Frozen food boxes: use moisture-proof or PE coated kraft linerboard to prevent water absorption and deformation [fruit, seafood, frozen food packaging]
